Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's campaign lets you relive the iconic Dragon Ball story through the eyes of many characters. Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's What If branching paths, known as Sparking Episodes, allow fans to play out a different version of events from the anime.

Here's how to see all of Sparking Zero's big what-if moments.

Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's What If feature grants players the ability to alter the story by completing each mission's side objective. In this instance, the reason why you fight and defeat Jeice rather than Burter is because you need to deflect Jeice's Crusher Ball technique. This guide will show you where to locate the objective and how to deflect the Crusher Ball technique.

You'll need to select the 'Arrival on Planet Namek' chapter in Goku's Saga. You'll notice the green branching path icon beside the image, which signifies the opportunity for an alternate path.

The objective shown in the menu states you must Defeat Burter and Jeice, without showing you the alternate objective.

To find the full objectives list with the alternate objective, start the mission and load into the encounter. From there, simply open the pause menu and navigate to the Battle Details option. The main objective will always be similar to the one shown in the chapter select screen, whilst the alternative objective is hidden inside the in-game menu.

The Battle Details option menu will be the same across all other branching path chapters.

Perception is a defensive ability that can counter/parry attacks from enemies and is also capable of countering special moves if done correctly. To deflect the Crusher Ball, press and hold the Perception ability button (Circle on PlayStation and B on Xbox) when Jeice queues up his technique.

Before attempting to deflect the Crusher Ball, there are a few things to note:

Perception will not counter basic Ki Blasts and will stagger if you are hit by them. Be mindful.

After successfully deflecting the Crusher Ball, Jeice will panic and flee the encounter by swapping out for Burter. Now that Jeice has fled, all you'll have to do is defeat Burter to complete the main objective. Once defeated, the story will proceed as usual with Jeice fleeing to Captain Ginyu's side instead of Burter.

Different moves in Sparking Zero let you teleport behind your enemy, like Instant Transmission or Vanishing Assault. Learn more about them here!
